Victory Day Is Approaching

student running with football on fieldGrandville Public Schools will celebrate fun, football, cheerleading and family on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Grandville High School’s Bulldog Stadium. Since 2015, Grandville's annual Victory Day has given K-12 children with cognitive impairments or autism an opportunity to play football or cheer and have their moment in the sun.
Though it’s not an actual football game, they run through the Dawg tunnel, score touchdowns and perform field drills, all while fans cheer them on.
Each child is paired up with a mentor from the Grandville football or cheer team. With play-by-play announcing on the loudspeaker, the varsity football team sets up a mock defense while participants run or catch a pass for a touchdown. They also join in field drills and yard games. Some even perform cheers with the varsity cheer team.
The community is encouraged to attend and cheer on these young athletes. Even if you aren't typically a football fan, we would love to see you in the stands. Admission is free.
